The location of the campground has been in the Lyver family since the 1960’s. A hardworking logger by the name of John Lyver arrived in Rosebery, BC in 1963 and began to grow his small business by operating “Kermit”, the green front-end loader. Eventually John purchased a logging truck, and then two, and soon began to purchase several lots in the Rosebery area. It is through this hard work and determination that allows us to offer the Wilson Creek Retreat private campground.
The owners of this campground, Krista (Brennan) and Ron Lyver, offer this scenic retreat for those who serve our great country as well as families and community groups. It is their hope that many people from near and far, may enjoy this region of the rugged Kootenay Mountains.
The owners represent two families who have a long history in the province and in the public service. These include former serving members of the Air Force, Army, RCMP and Municipal Police Services. Family members have seen military service in Germany, Cyprus, Afghanistan and at bases and detachments all across Canada. Krista grew up in a military family and is a proud base brat, having lived across Canada and overseas. She served in the CAF Army Reserves and worked in law enforcement for 11 years. Ron recently completed 30 years service, having served in both the PPCLI and the RCMP, the majority of his service as a member of RCMP ERT. The Lyver family has deep roots in the Rosebery area.
Wilson Creek Retreat is proud to offer this fully powered, 5 stall space to families, private user groups and to all those who serve our communities.
